The Minor League Football News Hall of Fame inducts JT Thomas

On December 6, 2007, at the Oasis Resort Hotel & Casino in Mesquite, Nevada, James "JT" Thomas, a former linebacker for the West Virginia Mountaineers, will be inducted into the Minor League Football News Hall of Fame. the MLFN Board of Directors reviewed Thomas' nomination, and on July 30, Thomas was informed that he had been accepted.

Thomas said, "To be receiving this award is truly an honour. "

I owe everyone a heartfelt thank you for their support over the years. thomas has become a key player in the growth and promotion of minor league and semi-professional football across the Midwest thanks to his strong leadership abilities, ข่าวบอล tenacious work ethic, and love of the game.

Football player, coach, and executive are the three distinct parts of JT Thomas' career story.

In 1992, Thomas enrolled at Kansas' Fort Scott Community College to begin his academic career. Thomas transferred to West Virginia University after his sophomore year (WVU).

Thomas played outside linebacker for Fort Scott for two seasons, both as a team captain, earning two All-Kansas Jayhawk Conference honours and being named Defensive Player of the Game in the 1992 Valley of the Sun Bowl. Thomas played inside linebacker for WVU and won two Mountaineer Club Awards for his outstanding performance on the field. He also received two All-Big East team selections and was named Defensive Player of the Game in the 1994 CarQuest Bowl. Each season, he was the tackle leader for both teams.

Thomas was able to play with former WVU great Major Harris in the semi-pro football circuit in 1996 with the Charleston Rockets thanks to a successful college career. When Thomas switched back to outside linebacker, the Rockets finished their 11-game regular season 10-1. Thomas also led the team in tackles and was named an All-Star. In 1997, Thomas joined the Albany Firebirds in an attempt to transition from semi-pro ball to the Arena Football League, but on the third day of training camp, he suffered a leg injury that ended his career.

The following stage of Thomas' football career involved a headset and clipboard rather than a helmet and pads. Thomas returned to semi-pro football in 2000 as Head Coach of the West Virginia WHAM! after serving as Defensive Coordinator for a champion team of 13–16-year-olds. In six seasons as the head coach of WHAM! in Morgantown, West Virginia, Thomas compiled a.695 winning percentage (41 victories, 18 defeats), three Coach of the Year awards, and coached three league All-Star games.
